SEO Position

The SEO Specialist will be responsible for increasing the organic traffic of client and internal sites and managing the day-to-day operations of multiple Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaigns. The SEO Specialist will be involved from the launch of the project all the way through the monthly sustaining work. He or she will demonstrate an advanced understanding of SEO tactics, the online industry, search engine algorithms and ranking factors, and possess a forward- looking approach to the search industry and the future of SEO. He or she must have prior search engine marketing experience with excellent analytic capabilities, keen business judgment, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Responsibilities:

• The SEO Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies to support all online marketing initiatives. • He/She will work with developers, graphics designers and external partners to develop and implement customized and targeted SEO and landing page strategies to maximize profit in conjunction with Natural Search campaigns. • He/She will review all relevant material and attend meetings to gain a full understanding of our client’s marketing/site goals and objectives. • He/She will translate client’s marketing goals into a responsible and successful organic strategy based on his/her knowledge of the search engine algorithms. • The SEO Specialist will be expected to utilize analytical applications, like Google Analytics and Omniture Site Catalyst, to analyze web site usability, design, and A/B and multivariate testing techniques to maximize profit for internal and external clients. • He/She will assess clients’ performance via ongoing reports that monitor against indexing, traffic, and ranking goals. • This position will also be expected to liaise with the SEM team to synchronize Organic and Paid Search efforts to increase overall efficiencies. • The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects and resources in a deadline-driven environment • The candidate must leverage knowledge and experience from project to project, ensuring that work is aligned with account strategy and CUnet standards, while providing valuable insights and analysis around program performance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred • Minimum of one or two years experience is required.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Traits (E=Essential, P=Preferred) • E- In-depth knowledge of Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing a must. • E- Minimum of one or two years experience at a dedicated SEO company or as an in-house Search Engine Optimization analyst. Agency experience preferred. • E- Ability to analyze and recommend specific search engine optimization enhancements to assist with natural or algorithmic search engine placements. • E- Ability to perform keyword research utilizing a variety of tools. • E- Experience with leading search engine ranking, traffic and web analytics software. • E- Ability to multi-task and handle other duties as assigned. • P- Understanding of basic web development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS • P- Experience leading creative process for client initiatives and developing recommendations. • P- Proficiency in all MS Office products. • P- Ability to bring energy, creative solutions and ideas to all projects.


• C- Ability to think strategically with an attention to details. • C- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. • C- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate should one to two years experience search engine optimization across all major search engines with a proven ability to establish key performance indicators to measure success vs. key objectives. He/she should have experience with Omniture Site Catalyst for performance reporting and analysis and a technical knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
